The Babylon Village Classic 10K Dirty Sock Run

C heck in is at a well-organized base near the starting line, adjacent to Park Avenue in Babylon Village. You can participate in a morning of fun and excitement along with hundreds of others. The Dirty Sock Run has grown each year since its inception in 2006. In 2015, we registered over 750 runners, hosted 100 plus volunteers, and enter- tained nearly 400 hundred spectators. After the run, enjoy music, raffles, and prize offerings at the finish line.

We thank our local business owners who have made a financial and personal commitment to support the Babylon Rotary Club event, the “Dirty Sock Run” to help stamp out hunger in our community. The Event

A nnounced by professional Terry Bisono, the Babylon Village Classic 10K DSR is the first race of the Long Island Track and Field Cross Country Series. The Dirty Sock Run is more than just a race. Besides giving runners a chance to compete and have fun, the Run raises desperately needed funds for local food pantries and soup kitchens. Over the past nine years, the Dirty Sock Run has proven to be a vital part of the Babylon Rotary’s effort to eradicate hunger in our community. The Race has generated over $160,000 for the Babylon Rotary Community Food Program. The generous support of our sponsors and race participants have made

the Babylon Village Classic 10K Dirty Sock Run a great success. M ore and more people are drawn to this unique course each year. The beautiful scenic run begins near Park Avenue in Babylon Village, parallels the Carlls River through picturesque wooded trails, goes northward past Southards Pond, wraps around Belmont Lake in North Babylon, and

then leads back to Park Avenue. The trail is a USATF Certified and Sanctioned course. It is fast and mostly flat and supported by five manned water stops throughout the trail.
